Have been visiting this small quaint place run by this simple man, dressed in basic clothes and never seen without a smile. Located in a corner within the tight streets of Karol Bagh where the helpers keep changing faces after every few months.
In the times like today, they serve two freshly made (straight out of the wok) vadas; including both plain and dal, for a mere cost of INR 15 Unlike the other south Indian joints, this place keeps it very basic by serving the product with only coconut chutney with raw chillies.
On request, the freshly prepared mixture can be purchased for an inexpensive amount so that you can have them hot at home with family and friends. Apart from this, the south Indian spices are also being sold here and also in the neighbouring market called the Channa market.
Landmark: Get down at Karol Bagh metro station (CCD side) and walk towards the market on your right.
You can take a rickshaw or walk down towards the channa market. At the crossroads you will see bohemia bar (if you like sipping a beer on the television, its the place for you), just enter the first lane opposite to it and voila piping vadas at your service.
Vadas are the only product they have been serving for ages, surely justifying that less is definitely good.
Open all days, it's surely a hidden gem, silently satisfying many hungry souls for a long time.
Do try Bohéme Cafe Bar if you are around that area.
