What Makes It Awesome

The Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel & Residences is an ideal luxury hotel whether you are on a staycation, holiday or a business trip. Spread in 12 acres with lush greenery and spacious rooms this hotel is the real deal, as Mumbai is characterized by its tiny spaces.

I recently checked into the hotel for a quick two day business trip and was pleasantly surprised that how my short stay became a delightful one with all the dining options that this hotel offers. If you are at the Grand Hyatt a meal at the China House, the signature Chinese restaurant, is a must. The other dining options at the hotel include Soma that offers authentic specialities from North West Frontier cuisine and Fifty Five East that serves Thai, Japanese, Lebanese mezze, Western and Indian dishes.

For me the highlight of my stay was a dining experience at their Italian outpost Celini, where I was served by world’s tiniest chef! Yes you heard that right. A virtual chef who jumped and hopped on my table to cook and serve food right on my plate. Here are the deets: Le Petit Chef an innovative dining concept that combines cinematic experience and technology with food is on at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai till 20th March. There is an option of vegetarian, jain, chicken and seafood menu starting at Rs 7000. My six course set seafood menu was not just delectable but an immersive experience that left me spell bound. If you are in Mumbai you must go for this experience as it is for the first time that the concept has come to India. The vegetarians sharing the table with me flew down from Gujarat and equally loved their meal.

Since I didn't have time to venture out much because of my packed schedule and of course Mumbai traffic, I was only happy that at the Breakfast buffet next morning restaurant, there were live street food counters— Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav and Bhel Puri. Though I didn’t forget to have my fix of fresh juice, dosa and omelet made to order.

Grand Hyatt Mumbai features 547 rooms and suites ( yes its huge). It houses a luxury spa, meeting rooms, banquet halls and lot of green spaces. However for me the charm of the hotel lies in its top class service and the fact that it is located close to the airport. The hotel also houses 110 serviced apartments. I am waiting for that long business trip where I can book an apartment and savor more food.
