Tsui Wong, earlier called Suziewong, has been around since 1977, and let us assure you that their food {mainly Chinese and Thai} tastes the same. The restaurant, located in the East Patel Nagar market area {to where it shifted from its original Rajendra Place spot} is small, but swears by the trust of its patrons and takes pride in the food they serve.

Must Eat

Among starters, the restaurant recommends the Chilli Garlic Crispy Chicken. The Thai Green Rolls served with a tangy dip are also delicious. The Rice in Chinese Greens is light and filled with fresh vegetables, and the Sliced Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce is tender and flavourful.

The restaurant also serves Thai dishes like the Khao Kluk Kapi {rice stir-fried with shrimp paste} which is made only by the head chef.

Must Drink

Go for one of their mocktails, or opt for a fresh lime soda or fruit beer with some of their spicier items.

What We Loved

Tsui Wong is a typical friendly neighbourhood Chinese joint, small and snug with a courteous staff, and wholesome portions. The red Chinese lamps and Bollywood tunes playing in the background only add to the warm homely atmosphere.

What Didn’t Impress Us

Parking space might be difficult to find especially late in the evenings, because of the busy marketplace and residential area around. The washroom is outside the restaurant, which is also quite inconvenient.

What Is The Best Time To Visit?

Tsui Wong is great for a cosy family dinner. Weekday afternoons are the least busy though, and might be ideal for a casual lunch date if you are in the area.
