Gurgaon’s Kalasthali Amphitheatre will be the backdrop of this festival. Two days, two plays – skip the usual dinner-and-movie weekend plans and, instead, immerse yourself in the performing arts. We love that none of the plays are too heavy or serious, because the weekends are meant for paisa-vasool entertainment and we think this festival promises lots of that.
Two Days, Two Plays At This Weekend Theatre Festival In Gurgaon
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
Residents of G-Town who are looking to spend their money on cultural experiences, without having to make the trek to Central Delhi. This Weekend Theatre Fiesta is showcasing two satirical, witty plays and is guaranteed to draw hearty laughs from the audience and we also think that everyone needs a big dose of comedy every now and then.
Why Should I Go For It?
We’ll give you two reasons, one for each day that the festival is on. The first reason we think you should check out this theatrical fiesta is because actors from two, well-loved theatre groups in Gurgaon are going to be taking the stage. So, expect crisp dialogues, creative set-design and some stellar performances. Gurgaon Theatre Group will be staging ‘Ande Ke Chilke’, an adaptation of Mohan Rakesh’s play, that is guaranteed to make you think between peals of laughter. Merry Go Round Entertainment will put up an adaptation of Munshi Premchand’s ‘Do Behnein’ on the following day – wit, sarcasm and humour find place in this script in a big way.
The second reason is that this fest is super economical – INR 200 for both days? Yes, please.
Anything Else?
The curtains go up at 7.15 pm, so make sure you get there, passes in hand, with enough time to spare. You can book tickets here.
