Under The Banyan Tree On A Full Moon Night, 1AQ

What's Happening?

Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night (yep, that's what the concert is called) is back for another edition. For the uninitiated, this concert is an old-school baithak-style event, but the March 6 edition will be a Jazz special one in collaboration with the Jazz India Circuit.

The concert will begin with a performance by New York-based guitarist and composer Shubh Saran, who has performed extensively with his band across the globe. This will be followed by Sungazer, an international electro jazz duo featuring YouTuber, bassist Adam Neely, and drummer Shawn Crowder. The third act of the evening will be the Bianca Gismonti Trio consisting of Bianca Gismonti (Piano/Voice), Julio Falavigna (Drums), and Paolo Andriolo (Bass).

To make UTBT Jazz Edit extra special, there will be a pop-up market at the venue with curated homegrown brands offering gifts, accessories, home decor and more. There'll be tons of food and drink options available too.

Jazz, drinks, and good food on a full moon night—sounds like a great way to spend a Friday night, no?

How’s the venue?

They've taken the name 'Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night' quite literally. Good news for us, because the concert's happening at 1AQ in open air, amidst all that greenery, and the stage is actually set under a banyan tree. Qutub Minar on Yellow Line is the closest metro station.

Make a note

The price of INR 1,500 includes the cost of the entry ticket, access to the food stalls and music stage. You'll have to pay extra for the food though—it's not included in the ticket. Also, the dress code for the evening is old school jazz funk (in keeping with the musical theme).
