Light Bulb Wall Accents Or Rustic Candle Holders: Easy & Fun Upcycling DIY Projects
Bottle Stationery Holder
Do you have plastic bottles or cans lying around? Grab them.
Supplies:
Plastic Bottles
Scissors
Acrylic paints
Marker
brushes
Procedure:
With a marker, draw a dome-like structure on the top of the bottom end of the bottle and cut it, creating an opening. Paint the bottle with the colour of your choice, and voila! You can store anything from pens, pencils, to paperclips, etc in this DIY bottle storage.
Light Bulb Wall Accent
Supplies:
Burnt out light bulbs
Glitter
Glue
Small hooks
Glass/acrylic paints
brushes
Procedure:
Pull open the bulb from the bottom and remove the burnt-out filament. Screw it back shut. With glue, draw designs on the bulb mimicking a chandelier. While the glue is still tacky, pour glitter on the design. If you don't want to work with glitter, create Aztec designs on the bulb with paint. There are no hard and fast rules, so get creative. Once the glue/glitter dries, attack a small hook on the top of the blub with glue. That's it! You have your glass bulb accent ready to be hung on the wall.

Ladle Candle Holder
Supplies:
Ladles in different sizes
Acrylic paints (gold/silver/bronze)
brushes
Procedure:
This one's super easy. Get a ladle that's deep enough to hold a tea-light candle. Paint the ladle with rustic colours for an antique finish. Make sure you go for two-three coats for an opaque look. Let it dry, and there you have it. If the end of the ladle has a hole, hang it on a nail or fix it on a rod. Light a tea-light candle on it and make it a conversation starter.

Bottle Cap Basket
Patiently collect a lot of bottle caps from soda bottles, soft-drink bottles, beer bottles, etc. The more you have, the better it will look.
Supplies:
Shoebox
Lots of bottle caps
Paints (optional)
Hard glue
Box cutter/scissors
Procedure:
Take the bottom half of the shoebox and cut the edges to make it look like a storage box. Glue on bottle caps in any pattern you like. If you want, you can also paint the bottle caps to make your design. Who knew something quirky can be this easy to make, right?

Artsy Jars
If you, like us, have gone through a ton of coffee, you've probably got some glass jars laying around, too. You can use these to store everything from kitchen supplies to stationery like paperclips and erasers, basically things you're always losing.
Supplies:
Empty jar
Acrylic paints
Lace
Masking tape
brushes
Procedure:
Tape up the bit that you don't want to paint. Using the sponge, add a coat of the paint and let it dry before adding a second coat. Follow that up by painting an intricate design with the paintbrush and decorate as you like with the twines or lace! Easy peezy.
