Loot Point: This Vintage Sale’s Got Zara, Mango & More From INR 100

Rene posted on 11 April

What Is It?

An initiative run single-handedly by volunteers, The Vintage Affaire is an annual fundraiser for the three charity organisations supported by The Angels Network. Now in its third edition, the event has grown bigger and better. The volunteers have done all the tedious sifting and sorting and are now ready to put up a massive sale with second-hand stuff {all collected from generous friends and relatives wanting to de-clutter} and designer donated pieces.

Who Is It For?

Crazy crazy bargain hunters and self-confessed shopaholics will have a whale of a time. Yes, it’ll get crowded and there might be mild elbowing involved but it’s all going to be worth it when you walk away with the war booty {think select clothes by Payal Pratap, Anju Modi, Akaaro, Gauri & Nainika, Tarun Tahiliani, Varun Bahl and other bigwigs along with a bunch a high-street brands}.

Why Should I Go For It?

It’s your chance at grabbing pre-loved home decor, clothes and accessories {think Gucci bags, Chanel sunglasses and Prada too} at throwaway prices. If that’s not exciting enough, some Indian designers will also be putting out a few pieces priced between INR 500-10,000 so in case the price tag’s always kept you within lusting distance, here’s your chance to get the real deal.

The proceeds will all go to charity {Dukh Bhanjan Trust, Bouquet Of Trust and Saksham Bal Vikas Sanstha} and last year, 10,000 items flew off the racks. Get the idea of the madness, yet?

And finally, you’ll be bringing down your carbon footprint by buying these sassy second-hands. Let this be your first step towards recycling?

Anything Else?

The organisers plan to send the last batch of products left after the sale straight to charity homes but guess what, we’re told that the last two years have been a complete sell-out.

All the lovely donors who’ve contributed stuff for this sale will be treated to a ramp show and special preview where they get to call dibs on the stuff. It’s only fair that they do, guys. But if you haven’t donated anything, you can just drop by on April 29 and 30 when it’s open for everyone!
