Bird Watch & Explore The Lesser Known Beauty Of Uttarakhand

What Did I Like?

I had already visited Nainital, Mukteshwar and Ranikhet but wanted to delve deeper into the Kumaon mountains of Uttarakhand. Most of the places I visited do not support the 'Mall Road' vibe but instead are less crowded, surrounded by lush green forests, for nature lovers and are a call for those seriously considering escaping the concrete jungle for a few days.

I had a great time exploring places like Ramgarh, Sitlakhet, Bhatrojkhan and Marchula. The network connectivity here is not that great and I would recommend driving your own car or a taxi from Ramnagar or Kathgodam train stations. If you like bird watching and exploring places like me then you will really enjoy these places. Different kinds of bird visit these low altitude mountains at different times of the year. If you want clear skies and are a landscape photographer, you should visit this place from October to April.
