Prepping for a wedding is a mammoth task to take on and all the hassle becomes a lot easier when you know exactly where to head for all your specific needs. So, we’ve shortlisted some of the best places in Delhi that will take care of all your wedding shopping requirements.

For Clothes & Jewellery:

Chandni Chowk

Chandni Chowk is a haven for all things wedding. From stunning lehngas at Asiana Couture and Dariba Kalan’s streets full of imitation jewellery {check out Regalia Jewellery House} to the Kinari Bazaar stores overflowing with zari borders or the chudi waali gali where you’ll find bangles in plenty, this market offers most things on your wedding outfit checklist. We know that navigating through the lanes in search of the perfect outfit can be a difficult task but with our list of stores to hit up for the most exquisite lehngas, you’ll be sorted.

Shahpur Jat

While you might not find your wedding lehnga here, Shahpur Jat is a great place to shop for your trousseau and for the numerous functions leading up to the wedding. Preeti S. Kapoor, Liz Paul and Monika Nidhii are some popular stores that brides generally make it a point to check out. While this market is a little pricey, we’ve managed to find apparel under INR 10K also. For jewellery shopping, hit up Soranam and the Shoe Garage & Needlelust have fancy juttis perfect for cocktail and mehndi ceremonies.

Karol Bagh

Come wedding season, you’ll find the Karol Bagh market to be packed with stressed bridezillas and their fam. Love bling or prefer pastels, this market has something to offer for every kind of bride. With a whole street dedicated to gold and diamond jewellery {Silver Street} and numerous footwear shops, they’ve even got you covered, accessory-wise. This market has a lot to offer, so in case you’re confused about where to begin, check out Sahil Fashion Bazaar.

Rajouri Garden

Bombay Selection, Shakuntalam, Frontier Bazaar are some of the many massive stores in Rajouri that have lehngas, gowns and anarkalis to suit every taste and budget. As compared to Chandni Chowk, Rajouri is relatively less crowded but still offers so many options. When you’re here, make it a point to check out accessory havens like Saraswati Bangle and Soni Sapphire and don’t forget to grab a quick bite at Atul Chaatwala.

Lajpat Nagar

Lajpat’s Central Market is a pit stop on every bride-to-be’s shopping spree. This market has numerous stores like KC Creations offering extensive range of fabrics from beautiful raw silk to brocade, crepe and regular cotton. If you want a last minute ready-made outfit or need patchwork, sequins and embroidery to make one from scratch, Lajpat and its lanes full of shops big and small will definitely have something to offer. There are plenty of options to choose from for footwear and jewellery too. Find more information here.

For Wedding Invites

Chawri Bazaar

Chawri Bazaar is the city’s hub for invitation cards with endless stores offering cards in vibrant colours, with intricate motifs, decorative accessories and even digital ones! Mittal Cards Gallery, Jay Kay Cards and Poddar Cards are among the many stores you can trust to create invitation cards like you’ve always wanted and within a budget that doesn’t break the bank.

Lajpat Nagar

While you won’t find a complete row of shops doing wedding invites one after another like you would in Chawri, there are a lot of stores scattered in the market like Varda, The Printways and Ashoka Cards that do the perfect wedding cards. Punny wedding cards, photo booklets, those with traditional motifs or scroll invites, these stores do everything.

The Wedding Studio, Vintage Notes Papery & More

If you’re someone who can’t handle the crowds at Lajpat & Chawri, brands like Vintage Notes Papery, Pink Whistle Man and more will be perfect for you as they do customised invites that are more than just wedding cards. Bottle wedding invites with sand {for a beach themed wedding} or punny favours like thanks for popping by on popcorn bags, these seven brands do invitations and favours that will become keepsakes for both you and your guests.

For Mithai

Kaleva Sweets

Central Delhi’s Kaleva Sweets does close to 1000 varieties of sweets including khoya & Bengali sweets, laddoos, pethas, snacks like namkeens and matthis we’ve all grown up hogging on. Honestly, Kaleva is a classic and with mithai boxes from them, you can’t really go wrong.

Khoya Mithai

Khoya Mithai

Khoya is a luxury mithai brand that only uses 100% organic ingredients without artificial colours or flavouring agents. Their mithais look like edible pieces of art and they’re giving the traditional mithais a refreshing twist we can’t seem to get enough of. Belgian Chocolate Barfi, sugar-free Fig Barfi and Filled Kesar Modak are some of our top picks for wedding boxes.

Bikanervala

Bikanervala is a safe choice and they do the good ol’ boxes of matthis, laddoos and pethas best. We hear they’ve also started offering customised sweets like custard apple mithai, choco chip laddoo and walnut & cinnamon barfi for wedding boxes that have gotten us drooling just by the very sound of it.

Evergreen Sweets

These guys have been around since 1963 and there’s a reason why they’re still as popular as ever. Evergreen is the best option for when you want to order sweets in bulk and they also do sugar-free sweets, namkeen and dry fruit wedding boxes. Kaaju Katli, Kala Gulab Jamun and Rasmalai are some of the most preferred sweets at Evergreen and you can be sure that your guests will be more than happy to receive mithai boxes from them.
