New Year, new goals and new vacations—the drive for holidays with family is a pleasure, keeping all safety protocols intact. Aahana Corbett Wilderness is a lovely resort in the green world of Jim Corbett National Park, makes for a perfect green holiday. It washes out the stress, it gives families time away from the pressures of work and children the room to play. The resort is all about low height cottages camouflaged by tall tress, the chirp of birds and lots of sunshine.
Spacious rooms with balconies on two sides, here you can chill out with a hot cuppa and some sandwiches. The resort has all the safety protocols in place. The staff wears gloves. The rooms are sanitized and the food is served clean and fresh. The guests are served the buffet by a mask-clad, gloved server. This way the contact is minimized. Hand sanitizers are found everywhere, including the room. There is even a disposable mask kept in an envelope in the washroom, should you forget this necessary item.
The resort organizes nature walks and the property has over 100 varieties of birds. If you are a nature lover, then the best time to see them is early in the morning and before sunset. All balconies overlook the forest at the back and the front is all green. There are gazebos where you can hang around.
There is yoga and meditation hall, a spa, children’s room with games such as ludo, snakes and ladders, some books, and a souvenir shop. Cycles are available too. The resort has used natural resources to recycle and reduce carbon foot print with a natural sewage treatment plant and compost pit. Smoking is not allowed in the room. Each room is dedicated to a bird—mine was the coucal.
The walking track is clearly marked and a round of the resort reveals that there is an organic garden, species of plants. Their names are written on boards, so you get to know what a tamarind tree or pomegranate tree looks like. The gardens are green with a badminton court. There is a swimming pool. . The breakfast buffet has some live counters with egg and dosas, plus a sweet corner with muffins and doughnuts. Guests get a treat of Kumaoni food and culture, as the hotel invites artists for a song and dance performance. The evening high tea is by the pool and a buffet dinner ends the day nicely.
A hot water bottle is available in the winter. An electric kettle with tea and coffee sachets is placed in the room with some cookies and a plate of fruit. Room service is available too. The resort has arrangements for MICE and weddings too. You can pre-book and enjoy comfortable stay.
The nearest railways station is 2km away at Ramnagar. Safaris need to be prebooked. The hotel can organize a picnic to some cool spots in the buffer zones.
On arrival, temperatures are checked, hands sanitized, Luggage is sanitized and cars are cleaned too. There is a welcome hot towel and a buransh drink with handmade flower bouquet.
