Recognised as the largest bust sculpture, the Adiyogi is 112 feet tall representing the 112 ways that the Adiyogi offered to attain 'moksha', meaning well-being and liberation. “Adiyogi – the Source of Yoga” was unveiled in February 2017 by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Visitors say that their visits are extremely calming and serene, and the only word one can think of after witnessing the magnificent sculpture of Lord Shiva is 'Wow'. Devotees can offer water and neem to the Yogeshwar Linga in order to be a part of the energy. One can also offer vastram (clothes) by tying a black cloth on one of the trishuls surrounding Adiyogi.
Every full moon night, there is a music concert in front of Adiyogi from 10:30 PM to 11:30 PM, while the premises are open till midnight. Every new moon day is followed by traditional offerings made to the Yogeshwar Linga by people from nearby villages along with music and dance, which is followed by the distribution of prasad. Needless to say, this is considered one of the best places to visit on Shivratri. Other attractions like Surya Kund, Chandra Kund, Dhyanlinga, and free yoga sessions are also available behind the statue, and you can easily reach them via a golf cart.
