Wingreens For All Dip and Sauce Needs

While stocking up on our noodles and cereal at The Gourmet Store in Hauz Khas Market, one of the employees offered us a sampling tray of various dips with chips. Always ready to eat, we scooped a big dollop of rosemary hummus and instantly knew we had found a winning snack.

The name behind the yumminess? Wingreens. On exploring further, we discovered delicious dips and sauces; basil, parsley and rocket pestos, salsa, hummus {with rosemary}, as well as a variety of herb and garlic butters. The recipes are well-balanced, vibrant, and consistent, and can be paired with pita bread, chips {which they make as well!}, toast and nachos.

These are all made by the farmers and landless women of Mewat, Haryana. An arm of The Women’s Initiative Network or WIN, Wingreens aims to do social good, create a sustainable and fertile environment in an area that would otherwise become a desert, and evolve into a brand that is internationally recognised for its high quality products.

They sell potted herbs and salad leaves like oregano, thyme, basil, lemongrass, peppermint, mint, lettuce, parsley, celery, baby spinach, lolla rossa and arugula. Hello summer light summer salads!

Wingreens also cultivates micro-greens and wheatgrass such as mustard, radish, watercress, beetroot, amaranth and chives. There’s also tea and dried herbs.
