Do Something Nice: Write A Feel-Good Message For Strangers At This Letter-Writing Session

One of the few novel initiatives in Delhi, Letter Earthlings, is inviting people for a letter-writing session where they write to strangers across the globe who are in need of that extra bit of motivation. These strangers are actually people who’ve written to an organisation called Those In Need saying that their friends, family or better halves need love and encouragement through their dull days. 

The workshop will get together Delhi people who are wiling to send out these positive vibes through handwritten letters. Drop by at Hearken Cafe on June 24 and be a part of this.

Everyone who’s feeling compassionate. Or those who want to relive the nostalgia associated with emotional, heartfelt letters of yore. And…Even those who believe in spreading peace and love through small gestures.

We swear at our neighbours. We lash out at people who don’t deserve it. Basically, we forget to be nice in a city that often throws up a lot of chaos and insensitivity and this is a small and adorable chance at making someone’s day. Imagine the joy when the recipients get these cutely wrapped letters from people they’ll never meet…

The organisers, The Goodwill Tribe along with the folks at Those In Need that sometimes all it takes to pick someone up is goodness from unexpected quarters. This is exactly why they are facilitating this session with all the stationery you’ll ever need so you can write your best words. The plan is to tell someone out there that life can be better and that goodness is still not dead or that every night has a dawn.

The letter-writing session is the first of its kind but will eventually become a monthly group exercise.

Don’t worry if you aren’t creative enough to prettify your letter. The organisers will take it upon themsleves to lend a hand before shipping it anonymously to people in need.
