If you find yourself craving for mouth-watering treats from the Old Delhi streets yet do not wish to make your way through them in this weather, you might have an alternative this month. Radisson Blu, Paschim Vihar, is hosting Dilli-6 Zaika till the 31st, and it’s the perfect place to get a taste of Delhi's street food staples—right from golgappas to parathas to halwa—under the same roof. And the best part? It’s a different spread every day.
Must Eat
The chaat sections are a must if you’re a sucker for the chatpata {and no usual street-food-hygiene worries either}. We also liked the aloo tikki, flavoured with peppercorn, and with paneer and dry fruits inside.
Try their range of parathas along with one of the spicy meat dishes for sure {we went for the tangy keema kaleji}. Wind up your meal with something from their dessert menu. Apart from confectionary, like the mocha crème caramel and fresh fruit vol-au-vent, they also have desi delights like langcha and lauki ka halwa.
Must Drink
Cool yourself down with the jal jeera and the pudina chaach {there’s also a sweet kesari lassi}. Don’t forget to give the cutting chai a try; brewed with a variety of masala and served with a plateful of goodies.
What We Loved
This is a great place to go through our favourite dilli 6 items along with specially prepared ones; all in the course of one meal. The team is also super courteous and ready to explain what goes in every dish.
What Didn’t Impress Us
Despite the old movie posters and kites strung on the wall trying to recreate the Old Delhi charm, the ambience falls a bit flat. Maybe a hint of music would have set the tone better?
What Is The Best Time To Visit?
The buffet is open for lunch and dinner, although the decor shines through at night.
