We stumbled upon British Council’s awesome creation ‘Mix The Play’, a website that lets you direct Romeo and Juliet with three separate endings.

What Is It?

Mix the Play is an interactive digital theatre platform that helps you learn about stage direction.A virtual direction tool, British Council is celebrating 400 years of the classic. The concept is part of its year-long celebrations and includes two plays – Romeo & Juliet and A midsummer night’s dream.

How Does It Work?

While Romeo and Juliet sees accomplished Indian theatre actors performing the scenes {Kalki Koechlin, Adil Hussain, Kriti Pant and Tushar Pandey}, A Midsummer Night’s Dream has an international cast of theatre actors. The actors can be cast after auditions, after which you can choose a setting {classic or modern} and location.

After you are done choosing from the criteria {cast, sound, production design}, the website asks you for your name which would be put on a poster of the promotional material. That’s when the excitement really kicks in and the final product is churned out in front of your eyes. We felt way too productive on a weekday after doing this. You can also see reviews on the right {with star ratings and all}.

So We're Saying...

It’s a fun exercise to do on your work break and lets you understand the basics of theatre production. Also, the acting is pretty brilliant.
