You guys always (ALWAYS) fought for the remote, right? You almost always never wanted to watch what your sibling enjoyed on the television (or, just wanted a reason to start a fight). Or for some, it was just a weekend, where you guys could watch the television for a few hours! Yep, we're sure it brought back some memories! And this Rakhi, with not many options to celebrate, we'd say how about binge-watching a movie or two. Many of which you guys grew up watching. Some old, some animated and some just funny!

PS: don't fight for the remote!

The Parent Trap

This rom-com is so cute and sweet, that we couldn’t help but add it to our list! The film is the perfect combination of mischief, fun, summer camps and twin-trouble! If you’re not up for something animated, this is an ideal option. Of course it doesn't seem as polished as films are now, but hey, it is fun!

Mary Poppins

This all time classic was loved and will continue to be loved for generations and we’re sure you don’t want to miss out on it! It has everything from great music, to a wonderful story to keep you and your young ones thoroughly entertained. The 1964 version of the movie is available on JioCinema and on Hotstar. The new version starring Emily Blunt as the sassy nanny is also rather fun, so maybe watch Mary Poppins Returns to see the older Jane and Michael Banks tackle adulting!

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

If you guys loved fiction, there is literally no better film than this! A story about an alien, it will leave you looking up at the stars wishing for wonderful things to happen! It can be rented on Youtube for just INR 120. This one is also for all the 80s and 90s kids who are probably easily in their late 20s and 30s now!

Matilda

This film about a little girl using telekinetic powers to settle scores with those mean to her, will leave you and your brother/sister, in fits of laughter. Originally a story by Roald Dahl, it’s sure to keep you fully entertained. Check it out on Netflix.

Harry Potter

One is never too old for Harry Potter, and there’s never a wrong time to binge watch the Harry Potter movies. Rewatch the series and the magical world created by JK Rowling! Post this, we’re sure there will be many, awaiting a letter from Hogwarts! The movies are available on Amazon Prime.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

All you need is chocolate! Once you're done eating, go watch chocolate! This film is everything and more than one imagines about a world of chocolate. It will leave you craving for something sweet and will have you dreaming of rivers, slides and waterfalls, made of candies, cookies and chocolaty treats! Check it out on Amazon Prime.

Home Alone

The very first Home Alone movie was simply brilliant. While we imagined a sign of newfound courage in Kevin’s (Culkin) schemes to deter the robbers and had a good laugh in the process, it also draws parallels to our current situation of being stuck at home and how we fight boredom. Stream this laugh-out-loud, albeit slightly unrealistic, but forever-fun-pic on Hotstar here.

The Lion King

Nothing to beat the original The Lion King with Rowan Atkinson, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg and Matthew Broderick voice starring. What fine animation, and it still hits you right in the feels! Which is why, we highly recommend first watching the newer live-action version which has a stellar star cast (including Beyonce, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Chiwetel Ejiofor, among others), no less. The newer one has the same storyline and the same voice of James Earl Jones for Mufasa, but somehow, it lacks a bit of heart! Then watch the real deal again, and again…
