As if you needed an excuse to eat pizza right? But we’ve got your back, and giving you a big reason to do so. No, literally it’s a big reason as the pizzas at Elvnthrtyone (1131) are the largest ones in town at a staggering 0.5 metres. That is just under 20 inches wide. Who’s up for this challenge? Called the Maximus Pizza, you can pick from their usual offerings of pizza and just upsize it. What we liked was that there was cheese and toppings on the whole surface (yes, including the edges and the centre). And if you think it’s going to be big, then you’re wrong. It’s massive. There are 12 slices in total, which means you can easily share this with six people. If you’re a larger group, then maybe a slice each can get you two kinds of pizzas and indulge away.
Vegetarians can pick from the classic Margherita, Spinach-Feta-Tofu or the Four Cheese Melt, among others. Meat options include Tandoori Murgh Tikka, Barbecue Chicken and Fruits Of The Sea which is loaded with calamari, prawn and salty sea bream (a type of fish). We ambitiously ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken with smoked sesame.
The Jamaican Jerk one was rather spicy, but the Mediterranean Garden was lovely thanks to the bell peppers, zucchini, feta cheese, asparagus, artichoke and sun-dried tomatoes. We were well stuffed, beyond the gills, but for the sake of unnecessary gluttony, we even ordered the Lamb Chettinad — a classic Chettinad lamb topping with bell peppers and feta.
