Shortcut

This 100 Feet Road bar’s 3-foot long nacho platter is the stuff dreams are made of. And with three floors to choose from at this bar, it’s for you to plan a night of weekend shenanigans. People, say hello to 1131.

Three Times The Fun

If you are wondering why 1131, well its simply derives its name from the address of its location — bang above Smoor. With no lift to take you upstairs, you are greeted by a muraled smoking area {a recurring theme seen on the next two floors} by the landing of the staircase. The first floor is your more relaxed lounge space with a bar in the centre, the view of the road on one side, and what is city’s first — a golf simulator in a resto-bar.

The simulator is for those quiet nights when you want to discover your inner Rory Mcilroy rather than on weekends when the only thing you should be holding is a pint of beer. Up the stairs and you land on our favourite floor amongst the three — the courtyard space complete with community seating. Come evenings, it’s the perfect space to wind down. As you progress late into the night, you’ll find yourself going to the top floor where the DJ deck is.

Drinks Ahoy

The bar menu has plenty to choose from — hard liquor to classic cocktails and 1131’s own signature cocktails that pack a punch and of course, creativity. Our picks from the signature section would be the Curry Patta {vodka-based}, a not so sweet {in a good way} curry leaf infused cocktail that comes with a rock salt-rimmed glass and lots of lime and Bangalore Sunset {gin-based}, a refreshing and mild drink that bordered on a little too mild. There’s even a section of mocktails and detox drinks.

Food Central

The food here is a bit experimental in terms of flavours but nonetheless crowd-pleasing. There’s a bit of Mediterranean, Pan-Asian, Indian, and Continental. Our pick to start the night is obviously 1131’s Signature Nachos in The Party Length. Perfect for a squad size of 4+ members, this 3-foot long platter features crispy nachos {they make these in-house} all topped with fresh guac, sour cream, salsa, jalapenos, and olives. Pair all that chips with in-house drink specials or Geist craft beer {yes, it’s on tap}, and you are set for the night.

Once you are done devouring the nachos, dig into the Celebrity Shrooms — batter-fried ‘shrooms stuffed with spinach and all tossed in a peanut butter, cilantro and chilli glaze. Yum, right? Another hit with us is the Basil & Pine Nut Murgh Tikka. In for a long night? Stuff yourself with dim sums and baos with Szechuan Glazed Vegetable Sui Mai and Prawn Sui Mai. Pizzas are thin crust and 12 inch with Spiced Sour Cream Chicken pizza being a winner. Maybe not on a night of heavy drinking, but do try the pasta especially the Spiced Aglio Olio that’s heavy on intensely salty capers and chilli flakes. The dessert section’s Pistachio Crumbed Malai Kulfi {served with a wonderful parmesan chilli crumble} has our heart.

So, We Are Thinking...

They had us at the platter nachos. Pair that with potent drinks, a happening menu, and that prime location, we see ourselves becoming a regular here.

#LBBTip

They have something called the Chef’s Table where if you book in advance you get a few dishes that’s been specially created by the chef just for you. Oh, and it’s on the house, guys!
