Spend a truly unique Sunday in V Learn Arena with artist Roma Girish, and discover the true meaning of ‘hands on’. During this creative and fun one day master class, you’ll learn all the tricks of the trade needed to create a cast mould of your hands. You’ll also cover the various products available for life casting, the raw materials, where to buy them, discuss the various mould application techniques, casting materials, and finishing techniques. You’ll study the attributes of mould, how to pour a good casts, and other imperfections, open the moulds without damaging the casts and how to detail the final product. During the workshop you’ll make a beautiful life cast, taking home a few new friends and one statement piece to admire for years.
Schedule of the workshop
11:30 to 1 pm of the Day:
You will learn how to prepare the mould, the proportion of different materials, mix them and accurately pour them for best moulding results. You will cast your hand in the solution (You are most welcome to bring along your family member that you would want to cast along; child, spouse, siblings, friends or any special one for 15 minutes and they can leave)
As the mould requires atleast 2 hours to set. You can get back post lunch at 2.30 pm.
2:30 to 5.30 pm of the Day:
We will focus on de-moulding, finishing techniques, dents and other surface treatments. Participants will open their cured castings for inspection and use the time to clean up any problem areas and patch any bubbles using the tools supplied. At the completion of the workshop, you will have a completed hand casting with a professional look with paint of your choice and take home a truly unique statement piece to capture just about anyone’s attention.
