Bon Jovi, Bubble Baths And Burgers: Time To Hit Up DJ Rohit Barker's Chill Zone For The Cool Kids

There’s a new chill zone coming to Indiranagar and it’s called 612 East. What makes it pretty much guaranteed awesome is that it is Rohit Barker’s {and his partner, Shylesh Jain} brain child. Bring on the cool music and comfort food, please!

When you hear Rohit Barker and Shylesh Jain, are opening a new space, you can rest assured that you’ll now have somewhere to unwind over good music {duh, it’s Rohit!} and good food. So when I spoke to Rohit and he said, “I wanted people like you to have a place to kick off your heels, put your feet up, hold onto a cushion and just enjoy the music, conversation and food,” you’ll understand why I wanted to make my own set of keys to 612 East before they’ve even opened!

Another addition to the bustling 12th Main Road in Indiranagar, this place is set over three floors — each with a slightly different ambience. The terrace is to really chill and unwind, the second for catching up in the balcony area or even inside, and the bottom for your date night, perhaps.

Food is expected to be comfort pub grub — pork ribs, burgers and pressed sandwiches standing out for me. But that’s not to say that you won’t gave a gourmet selection too. Think smoked meats with a distinct South American influence, and of course plenty of interesting cocktails, and usual suspects like Long Island Iced Tea and Bloody Mary. In fact, like the logo, the drinks menu too is divided to reflect the four elements — earth, air, water, fire. I can’t wait to try the Bubble Bath, with dry ice, nitrogen and a light airy feel.

But the best part of all of this is the music. Rohit tells us that it’s going to be everything from Janis Joplin and Coldplay to Bon Jovi and Maroon 5! Come 6pm, a terracotta wall will turn into a screen that will play the corresponding visuals to the tunes you’ll be hearing — almost like moving art. So much win here! You can see why I am so excited by this. And I bet you are too. So clear your calendars for June 2, as doors open to this gateway to the glory days of fun, chilling, good music and food then.
