Flavours of Lanka: Sri Lankan Food Fest

Experience the flavours of a spice island at your table at the Sri Lankan food festival from September 4th to 14th at Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield. The 10-day festival celebrates the culinary delights of Sri Lanka, our tiny neighbour in the Indian Ocean. Chef Sanjay Rawat of the Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield and well-known food writer Priya Bala has curated this unique food festival showcasing the delights of Sri Lankan cuisine. Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield celebrates the culinary specialties from the beautiful little island. It is a cuisine influenced by a strong local culture as well as the colonial influences of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British who came for Sri Lanka’s famed spices and its tea. South Indian and Malay traders have also left their impact on the food of Sri Lanka. Fragrant curries of seafood and meat, vegetables cooked in the most unexpected ways, hoppers and string hoppers, scrumptious ‘short eats’ make their appearance at the Sri Lankan table. Then, there’s lamprais that superb meal-in-a-banana leaf. There’s all this and more at the Sri Lankan Food Festival at M cafe, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield.
