Monica Dogra & Smokey The Ghost At The Humming Tree

Labeled an Ambassador of “The New India”, Monica Dogra is a singer, spoken word artist, actor and DJ - As part of Shaa’ir + Func, she has won a number of awards, has packed venues all across India, and headlined every notable music festival in the country. She has also performed at some of the biggest music festivals around the world such as Glastonbury (UK), c/o POP (Germany), Oslo World Music Festival (Norway), MIDEM Music Conference (France), Smirnoff Exchange (Canada), Nokia Music Festival (Dubai), to name a few. - In January 2016, as a solo artist, Monica released her debut album titled ‘Spit’ that features collaborations with music producers around the world like Robot Koch (Germany), Prash Engine-Earz Mistry (UK) & Gaurav Raina (India). - Following the release of Spit, Monica started DJing and working with Abhi Malhotra a young producer who recently returned to India after having worked with some of the biggest producers and engineers in LA. - Over the last two years Monica has been further popularized as a judge for India's first ever English singing talent hunt show titled 'The Stage'. She also hosted the music documentary television series 'The Dewarists' that won the bronze "Cannes Lion" at the Cannes International Festival of creativity. - Together they have been producing bass music unlike nothing Monica has ever released before. Dance floor tracks that draw inspiration from baile, moombahton, trap and hip-hop. A street sound that explores every realm of bass music creating a unique identity mixing Indian global bass with Monica's signature story telling from the ancient future Smokey the Ghost is a socio-conscious Indian rapper. Hailing from the city of Bangalore, he has been a pioneer in the Indian Hip Hop Scene for the past 15 Years. Being the founding member of the popular group, Machas With Attitude; he rendered his voice to many popular Bollywood films like Chennai Express & Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. In 2017, he collaborated with electronic duo, Aerate Sound, which led him to be the first rapper from India to appear on the Bangalore edition of The Boiler Room. Smokey the Ghost & Aerate Sound are set to perform at The Magnetic Fields Festival in late 2017, which will make him the First rapper to feature on the festival as well.
