Church Street Social and the British Council India are organising an evening of screening films on the 24th of October, 2017. These films are from the best of the British Council archives from behind the scenes of a National Daily to life in London during the World War II. Speaking at the occasion, Alan Gemmell, OBE Director India, British Council, said, “There is a huge interest and audience in India for documentaries curating interesting events and milestones in the field of history, science and culture. Documentaries are timeless, capturing an era gone by, but still relevant as they document our evolution, our progress across the ages and act as a mirror to the society. We encourage more people to participate in these film screenings.” “Brand Social is an integral part of the cultural landscape of the young urban consumer", says Riyaaz Amlani, MD & CEO of Impresario (parent company of Social). "Curated experiences that encourage guest interaction with brand partners ensure a more meaningful experiences for the brand. We are delighted to partner with British Council and provide a platform for the screening of a curated list of documentaries for which we share a common audience. Our patrons will get the opportunity to enjoy the screening of the best of British Council film collection exclusively at Social; reinstating the culture-defining Social experience".
