Channarayana Durga is a hilltop fort near Madhugiri around 100km from Bengaluru. Originally built by the kings of Madhugiri, it later fell into the hands of Marathas. But in subsequent years control of the fort changed several times between Marathas and Mysore Wodeyers. The British took over the fort during third Mysore war and then abandoned it. All that is left now is the ruins, beautiful and scenic though.

When we reached at the top, we saw a couple of tents lying around. A night camp at the top of the hill would have been better if tried.
What's My Pro Tip?
The trek has moderate diffculty and there are no trees on the way. It is all steep rock climbing with sun above your head. Hence make sure you carry a lot of water, energy bars, sunscreen lotion, caps and you are good to go :)
