A travel plan with the squad might be long pending and with Munnar being one of those hill stations that are a drive away from Bangalore, you have got yourself a destination to head to. You only need a place big enough for you and your squad to stay in Munnar. Enter the independent cottages of this Airbnb property that’s nestled amongst the hills. The drive to the property is a little over an hour from the city centre, but there’s unending nature for you to gawk at.
Since the cottages are on an elevation, expect either sunny, misty or even rainy weather to greet you. The cottages are cute with large French windows that offer unending views of the mountains, the Annaerangal Lake and open out to the lawn. Each cottage comes modern amenities such as WiFi and a television, but don’t go expecting super fast internet. Enough speed to probably post on Instagram. Wander About
During the day, you can wander about on the lawn and enjoy the brilliant panoramic view of the Annaerangal Lake. Annaerangal in Malayalam means elephants descending, and on a good, clear day (and if you are very lucky) you can see elephants drinking water from the lake or simply lazing about. If you or anyone in the squad is a nature freak, carry a DSLR camera with a telephoto lens for the capture this. Come evenings, a campfire can be set up on request or you could put out blankets and take a nap under the stars. The mosquitos and bugs probably won’t allow you to take a long nap though. But hey, long live Odomos!
The Chinnakanal Tea Plantation is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the property too. You can ask the cheerful host or the helpful caretaker to arrange for a jeep ride to the plantations. Kolukkumalai and Meeshapulimala are nearby places that you can make a beeline to as well.
