What Makes It Awesome

A little over three hours ride from Bangalore, one sunny Sunday morning we found ourselves in a lush green setting —  Akshayakalpa's quaint farm in the little village of Tiptur. Our agenda for the day? Experience a bit of farm life and learn about what Akshayakalpa is and does. In fact, that's the agenda for anyone who wants to visit the Akshayakalpa Farm in Tiptur. The two-day farm visit will have you getting closer to the roots and learning about where and how your food comes from. Like how we did, you can walk around the organic garden where you can find everything from cabbages to carrots, and beans to tomatoes being grown. You can, of course, have a hands-on approach to the farming activities — we happily 'harvested' a few cherry tomatoes.

The farm manager will also take you into the shed and introduce you to their cows if you'd like that, and if you're like us, you'll probably want to spend the rest of your farm visit here. You can feed the cows, give them plenty of scratches (they love it, they are basically just grass doggos) and peek into the chill and comfortable life they are having.

The farm visit also consists of walking around and seeing all the produce and crops being grown. Plus, you get to stay in tents that are located inside the farm — so really, you are living the farm life. There are activities such as bonfires and bullock cart rides that happen during the visit. And you definitely don't want to miss out on the product sampling and learning sessions. You get to try all the Akshayakalpa products and learn more about how they go about their Good Food Movement.

The farm visit is ideal for families with kids and anyone who loves to know about where their food comes from. Plus, we love that there are farmer's market pop-ups you can go to and pick up fresh veggies.

Pro-Tip

The two-day stay is inclusive of simple organic vegetarian meals. You can also take a train from Yeshwantpur Station to Tiptur in case you don't want to drive down.
