Walking down Jayanagar’s 5th Block, we came across the cafe Alchemy Coffee Roasters and decided to give it a chance. With exposed brick walls, industrial pipes running across them, fancy coffee-making contraptions and filament bulbs hanging from the ceiling, this is hipster central. They even have a tiny al-fresco space that overlooks a charming park and looks particularly welcoming in the evenings. The menu boasts of some delicious brews. We sipped on their Popcorn Latte, just to see what they were about. A pleasant surprise, this drink is a bittersweet number, topped with whipped cream, popcorn syrup and actual popcorn kernels that made for a fun twist.
The cappuccino also lived up to our test. Other brews include South Indian Filter Coffee, macchiatos, espressos and lattes, with prices starting at INR 100. Cold coffees, slushies, freak shakes and smoothies are also on offer. The full-fledged breakfast menu at the cafe Alchemy Coffee Roasters serves up eats like kheema pav, toast, pancakes, waffles and quiche. Some of these dishes are available all through the day (yay!). If you’re looking to fill up on something more substantial, their selection of small plates will keep the munchies at bay. Pick from salads, chicken wings, pasta, burgers, paninis and more, with prices starting at just INR 150. And don’t forget to end the experience on a sweet note and order dessert, with everything from cookies to cheesecake peeking through.
