Ivory and gold doesn’t really ever get old does it? Some might call it boring, but when it is elegant, stylish and classy, it can’t be wrong. Sticking to just that, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot this April, in cream and gold. And while they broke hearts, and we shed a tear, it's safe to say we've moved on (somehow) and can't wait to see them in 'Bhramastra.' Now coming to the wedding, as always, we’re temporarily ignoring the groom and how dapper he looked, because we’re all #TeamBride. So, if you’re dreaming of ivory and gold wedding outfits, we’ll make the dream sequence easier with designers that do this beautiful colour combination just as well.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee

This name needs no introduction. An iconic and even cult designer now, Sabyasachi Mukherjee is almost synonymous with bridal wear. And we’re starting with this, because Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor picked this designer for their outfits. For the wedding ceremony Alia Bhatt wore a  an ivory organza sari embroidered with fine tilla work and an embroidered handwoven tissue veil. While Ranbir opted for an embroidered silk sherwani, according to the official Instagram handle of Sabyasachi.

If it’s one of your life’s missions to own a Raw Mango saree, Sanjay Garg’s gorgeous sarees are now cult level, especially if you’re looking for muted colours - in this case gold and cream. This one from Raw Mango, Sevti, is a handwoven Chanderi , featuring floral butis across the whole saree in gold zari. If you’re wondering how it’s got that hint of sheen, then it’s all thanks to the silk weave. There’s also an organza silk option if you prefer that over the chanderi.

Another option from Raw Mango is the Sajili, also an organza beauty that features gota embroidery, floral Zardozi butis across the pallu

Tarun Tahiliani

Perhaps the man behind the whole white-gold trend from way back when, you can’t miss out on Tarun Tahiliani’s collection when it comes to bridal wear. Perfecting the art of making things look flowy and airy, you'll find most of Tahiliani's ensembles are made of chiffon, net, and now, very fine Italian tulle. Especially since it can be easily embroidered on. When we once interviewed the man himself, he said that he felt bad that brides had to carry up to 20 kilos on themselves, which is why he also opted to use crystals and gota to add gold to the creams and ivory, instead of chunky thread work. Taapsee Pannu has been seen in the quintessential cream-gold by Tahiliani, while Kartina Kaif too dazzled in his creation. For now though, we're going to be lost in the Pakeezgi collection of lehengas, shararas, concept sarees, and kurtas that feature mirror jadau work, jaalies, resham three dimensional embroideries.
