Alt Pizza, a Singapore-based brand and inspired by Asian flavours, is the new pizza joint on the block. The space, that gives a diner-but-better vibe, and is straight out of a colourful but minimal decor Pinterest board, is started by the same folks behind Nasi and Mee in Koramangala.
The options on the menu might look unfamilia, but that's because they've experimented with the flavours to include ingredients that don't usually find space in the general arena of Italian cuisine. For starters would Burrata, chilli jam and tahini go together? In the Bang Bang Burrata dish, they do! The Oh Sweet Garlic is an amazing combination of honey, garlic, and cheese. The Beetroot Carpaccio will balance out the rich flavours for anyone who wants a break from the cheese.
We're told the hot favourites in the pizza section are the Don't Goat Me Started and Meat Lover. Having sampled them, apart from the fantastic sourdough base, the meats were soft and well-cooked, which makes the flavours really come through. Vegetarians feel free to try I'm A Fun-Gi or the Lean & Green. Crust leavers, they offer blue cheese, and an olive dip to go along with your 'scraps' so that you wouldn't want to leave any crumbs. If you've got the space for it, and are feeling nostalgic, order the Iced Milo and skip dessert. Though, if you really want to end on a sweet note, the Pumpkin Cheesecake is a must try.
