Living in Goa and redoing you home? Or just want to explore new (old) furniture? Well, then you must check out Circa by Mayank Anand. Located in Anjuna, the Circa store is an absolute treasure trove for lovers of all things antique, art and handicrafts. You’ll find everything from chairs, beds, tables and ottomans for the home to mirrors, lights, pillars and panels for your walls and halls.
Each piece of furniture, or painting, or decor has been reclaimed after being discarded, and has been restored to its original condition by the design team, led by Mayank Anand. We currently have our eye on a striking brass plate installation which is INR 41,000, and is a piece from Punjab that is almost 80 years old. Oh, and this cast iron bench that comes from Panchgani.
They also have a collection of original Ravi Varma Lithographs from the press in Karla, Lonavala, Maharashtra. Originally printed by Anant Shivaji Desai for sale in Moti Bazar, Mumbai, these artworks are from 1906 up to 1945. If you and your house have the flair, then the panels (some Gothic revival in style) will fit in nicely, like this pair of panels.
You will also find Tanjore paintings, wooden chests, art deco tables too. Of course, each piece is unique and has its own story to tell, so don’t go expecting sets. These are one-of-a-kind must-haves which have been set up at the store so you can visualise how it will look in your home. Go with plenty of time to take in the store and all its offerings.
