If your snacking options are secretly grandma dated (hey, no shame there), we admit ours is, then do visit Aradhana Gowri Condiments in Chickpet like we did. This store tucked away in one of the busy bylanes has shelves full of some of our favourite things to munch on, endlessly.
From classic South Indian munchies like Chakli, Nipat and Kodubale (INR 150 to INR 250 per kilo) to home staples such as Chutney Podi, Sambar and Rasam Powder (INR 340 per kilo) they make it all and package it conveniently for one to take home as many as they please. We were all over their jars of zingy, spicy Andhra and Karnataka style pickles (INR 120 and INR 100), the perfect condiment to any homestyle meal. They also sell rice and dal papads that cost INR 50.
What particularly caught our eye were dry coconuts that had festive and wedding related carvings etched onto them, some with religious carvings too, all priced at INR 150. Upon inquiry we were given to understand that they make for great gifts or even display pieces at home and can last upto a year. Aradhana also retails wedding umbrellas and gifts sets for the bride and groom made of sweets.
