Keeping up with the city’s rising coffee culture, Banaswadi has it’s very own roastery that’s serving up many varieties of the beloved beverage. Plus, cafe bites and desserts too.

Coffee Please!

Adding to list of neighbourhoods with hipster coffee joints is Banaswadi with Aren’s Coffee. The swish cafe and roastery, complete with a coffee roaster machine, take home coffee beans and a book and magazine corner, does all kinds of coffee, with a side of cafe bites and desserts. Sourcing their coffee from Coorg and Chikmagalur, they pay homage to one of the world’s most beloved beverages with their menu that all you coffee aficionados are sure to love. With deliciousness like Hazelnut Lattes, Jaggery Coffee and good old espressos on offer, drink up while you’re here. They also a have a Honey Ginger Coffee without milk, which we plan to try next.

And it’s not just coffees that you can down here, but smoothies and shakes too. Bite into sandwiches, burgers, fries and nuggets while you’re here to keep the munchies at bay. A standout item on their menu was the Popcorn Sundae, which had actual kernels in the cup, served on top of a scoop butterscotch ice cream. The saltiness and crunch of the popcorn was a nice twist that paired well with the smooth and sweet of the butterscotch ice cream. You can also hit up their counter to have a look at the other goodies on offer, which included pre-mixed hot chocolate and coffee sold in sachets that you can pour into a glass of milk for an instant drink.

Neighbourhood Hang

With an easy breezy setup, you can spend hours holed up here perched on their simple chairs and tables. They’ve even got a little book nook with books and magazines for you to pick and flip through while you’re here. Plus, the aroma of coffee wafting in the air should make you want to spend a bit more time in here. Right at the entrance, you’re greeted by a fancy coffee roasting contraption and the staff sorting out and packaging coffee beans. You can buy a packet of their fresh coffee at the counter to take home too. Pick from five different blends {there’s even the option of creating your own blend} of freshly ground coffee to wake up to every morning. Prices starting at INR 175 for 250g.
