What Is It?

Returning for round two, the Junta Art Market is back with a whole load of new artists {15 to be more specific}. Oh! You don’t know what it is? Let us decode it for you. An initiative by the fine folks of Kitsch Mandi, Junta is a platform for emerging artistes, and the idea is to use spaces that aren’t traditional galleries or halls to showcase art. How cool is that? We like when unconventional approaches are taken to bring to life art. And if the art isn’t enough to bring you there, there’s also going to be live music, food and drinks, courtesy Om Made Café, the venue. You’ll be privy to everything from illustrations, graphic prints, original canvas art, photography, and cyanotype prints. Who’s in?

Who Is It For?

We’d like to say it’s for anyone who appreciates art, but this is so much for that just that. In fact, if you appreciate art, it’s a given that you’ll enjoy Junta Art Market. But for those who aren’t too inclined to painting, illustrations and the visual world in general, this will really break down those walls for those of you who stayed away from formal exhibitions.

Why Should I Go For It?

To promote the arts and this super cool format of consuming works, naturally! Apart from that, there’s so much to love about Om Made Café – it’s a rooftop space and oh-so-beautiful. And the best part is that the art will be on sale as well, and at affordable prices. Some of the artists we’re eyeing are Sadhna Prasad, Ravi Pudi, Danish Shaikh and Rupal Gowda. To add to the culture fest, Shubham Roy will be playing a live set with his trademark fusion, folk and acoustic tunes. Then DJ Tapan will take over at the console set the tone for the rest of the night. So, see you there?
