What Makes It Awesome

When we first visited Namrata Baruah's pottery studio, she was working on custom orders with a website under construction, and planning to move to a bigger space and host workshops and classes. Fast forward to now, Aware Studio (stylised as a.ware studio) is doing it all and how. Her first shop collection, The First Light, is live and features ceramicware themed around mornings (if you've been following her on Instagram, you'll know her daily breakfast routine is a thing of joy to watch), daily routines, and breakfast.

Which explains why the collection consists of everyday essentials such as mugs, cups, tumblers, and plates. The bowls are our favourite to have smoothie or popcorn in them, they are as versatile as they come. Coffee fanatics, you can pick up espresso coffee cups and pour-over sets. There's also a collection of décor pieces such as vases, incense houses (these are so cute by the way), and lidded jars.

If Bangalore's traffic and the hustle culture is getting to you, then we recommend reaching out to Namrata for her pottery workshops. Namrata's mindful and focused approach to the craft is something you'll pick up on during the classes. If you've seen her numerous pottery Reels, you know how meditative the art of wheel-throwing is. The beginner's workshop covers that and everything else from basics to the final step of glazing; and at the end of the course, you'll have made a small collection to take home.

Pro-Tip

With pan-India shipping available, we recommend checking out the collection and getting yourself a bowl or two or more.
