Oh, you're gluten intolerant? Or you choose to stay off it? Well, you're in luck! Gone are the days of having a scarcity of gluten-free products. Now is the time for brilliantly baked stuff, thanks to Anmol Mangharam and her latest venture, Baked In BLR. While Bangalore has been privy to her baking prowess for a few years now at other bake houses, this is all hers!
My family and I had a few of her creations, and we are fans! While none of us are medically to avoid grains, we do so by choice on occasion. And what better occasion than than to eat Garlic Parmesan Bread and Almond & Oats loaf! The former is a tad salty, and perfect to be had on its own. The Almond & Oats can be had with honey as we did, or even with a spread of your choice. If you're not used to gluten-free stuff, then perhaps you will find it heavy compared to regular stuff, but that is only because it doesn't rise! It also goes well with a pesto spread.
From the sweet section, we had brownies that were chunky and delicious. I frankly couldn't even tell they were gluten-free...I'd probably have picked them over regular brownies! My favourite was the Gooey Brownie but the house fave was the walnut one. In the cookie department, the top spot went unanimously to the dark chocolate chunk cookie, second spot was for Nutella stuffed cookies and a close third was the milk chocolate chunk. Not too sweet, but definitely for sharing, pair it with a coffee, and thank me later!
Also on offer are sandwich loaves, burger buns, and a few other kinds of brownies. I also hear that other diet-restriction food will be on their menu soon. Naturally, LBB will keep you updated! Prices start at about INR 110 for the cookies, and go up to INR 350 for the full loaves of bread.
