Ten-Second Takeaway

An old Bangalore favourite, Bamburies has been around since the late 70s and has served countless customers with fresh proteins, in-house meat products, seafood and even a wide array of exotic cold cuts.

Freezer Stash

Freezer looking empty? Then, a shopping trip to Bamburies is going to result in big rewards, we assure you. Located on the ever-busy Richmond Road, you can hop off the narrow footpath and into the pristinely kept Bamburies. Nine out of ten times, you’ll be greeted by Agnello Fernandes, the store’s owner.

Started off by his father, Bamburies was a way to sell the extra produce from the family’s farm. Today, though, the meat is sourced from hand-picked farms around Bangalore. And products like ham, salami, and the sausages are all produced in-house. The fact that the store has always been a stickler for quality and hygiene has kept the customers coming since the 70s.

Meat Of The Matter

The offerings at Bamburies are many. For your basic protein needs you can pick up chicken, lamb, beef and pork. You can get these in cuts that your prefer – fillets, mince, chops, and ribs. The seafood variety includes delicious names like Seer, Norwegian Salmon, Crabmeat, Tiger Prawns, and John Dory.

Bamburies also counts herbed and cured meats as a speciality. They have a variety in locally-made sausages {pork, chicken, beef and Goan} and also offer Chorizos, and Wurstel Sausages. There’s plain salami and also the paprika, mushroom, or the Milano types. Turkey products include everything from the breast to sandwich ham, pastrami, and bacon {if you are looking for a healthy alternative to the pork version}. If you need to sink your teeth into something truly exotic, then we suggest that you snap up the Mortadella, the Black Label Premium Cooked Ham or the German Black Forest Ham.
