Perfect to get away from the city’s hustle bustle, spend a peaceful weekend in the midst of nature at the Bandipur Safari Lodge. And that too it’s nature in all it’s glory and true form. Who’s in?
Escape From The City Life And Hideaway At This Earthy Safari Lodge In Bandipur
Shortcut
Sanctuary In A Sanctuary
With it’s earthy, tiled, sloping roofs and natural feel, the Bandipur Safari Lodge makes you feel cosy and comfortable. They make a great effort to maintain the ecological balance with herbs, medicinal plants and ornamental plants filling their premises. They also advise their lodgers to refrain from wearing perfume and bright colored clothes before setting out on safaris.
From experience, reserve your mornings for a guided trek with a trained naturalist. The jungles are lovely in the mornings. In the evenings you could set off on an off-roading experience on a jeep safari. Hopefully, you’ll have better luck in spotting a tiger. We had to make do with seeing one on the wildlife film the lodge screens before dinner. But don’t go to bed early as they organise a bonfire and a barbecue!
Daily Dose Of Wildlife
When is the last time you walked through a forest and just listened to the sound of the wild? If you’re still thinking about it by the end of this then it’s time to get going. Summers are the best for wildlife sightings as most animals come out of hiding and look for waterholes due to the hot dry weather. And the best part is that Bandipur Safari Lodge has official government tie-ups for the jungle safaris, so they’re your best {or rather only} hope of seeing animals in the wild!
In The Jungle
Apart from ildlife safaris, walking tours and bird watching why not also indulge in some adventure? Coracle rides, water rafting, elephant rides, trekking up to Himavad Gopalaswamy Hilltop, which is covered with mist almost throughout the year, are options if you’re looking for a walk on the wild side. If you’re a nature enthusiast then you can also go camping and truly be at one with nature.
#LBBTip
All the rooms have a larger-than-life painting of a wild animal at the head of your bed. Make sure to not jump out of your skin when you wake up at night. I talk from experience…
