Currently a small circle of 49 Bangalorean book lovers, the Bangalore Book Club is a fairly exclusive group of bibliophiles that you have a chance of being a part of. Meeting up once every month on, they pick a book to read and discuss them at a local cafe or one of the members’ houses and have a potluck to go along with it. Good food and a good book is a match made in heaven, we think. What’s more, the dishes brought to the potluck are all supposedly inspired by the book being currently discussed. Encouraging a mix of genres, the club has discussed books such as Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag and Sapiens by Professor Yuval Noah Harari in the past. For the Ghachar Ghochar meet up, the bunch hit up old-school food establishment Koshy’s Parade Cafe, which was very much like the Coffee House, a café-cum-bar-cum-restaurant in old Bangalore, that the novel describes.
Have some interesting books that you think needs to be read and discussed?
