Bangalore To Chennai In 20 Minutes? It Could Be Possible With The New Hyperloop Project

If there’s one thing that we wish, it’s having some of Murugan Idli Shop’s Podi Idli {and meeting our friends at LBB, Chennai}. Well, seems like it’s going to happen according to this news, as the travel time between Bangalore and Chennai is likely to be cut down to 20-odd minutes. Oh yes, you read that right. It’s all thanks to the Hyperloop programme. No clue what that is? It’s a programme that was first proposed by Elon Musk, inventor and CEO of SpaceX {go read about him here if you don’t know him}. It basically involves transportation through pods in a sealed pipe at speeds that could touch 1,200km/hr, making it faster than a jet aircraft.

According to the report, we hear that Virgin Hyperloop One has signed up with the government of Karnataka to scope out hyperloop systems between Bangalore and Chennai, meaning that the six-hour-long journey that’s almost 350-odd kilometres on road will be cut down to less just 20 minutes. Now, that’s crazy travel. Flash and Quicksilver, you reading this? But as always, you’ll have to take this news with a pinch of salt as it’s only a proposed plan {like every other plan there is} and the first network of the same will begin work only in 2020. Fingers crossed, we’ll even cross our toes too, just for this to become a reality.
