The Indian handicrafts industry is unparalleled in its uniqueness, level of skill and just sheer variety! And your chance to experience the wonder of it all is waiting for you at the 17th edition of the Bengaluru Dastkar Bazaar. This holistic craft experience hosted year after year by Dastkar, the society for crafts and craftspeople, is bringing a confluence of more than 100 craft groups and craftpreneurs from over 20 states across India this year too. Since 2021 continues to be an unfortunate year for the industry, Dastkar had been raising funds through the Artisan Support Fund to make this year's event a possibility and hoping for it to be a success.
Craft groups from East India (Manipur, Bihar, West Bengal), West India (Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat), North India (Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh), South India (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Pondicherry) and Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh) have set up a wide range of lifestyle products. Get everything from home accessories, decorative products, silver jewellery and adornments, pottery and ceramics to traditional paintings, and much more while you also learn about the craft. What's interesting is that at this edition you get to enjoy a new range of products that were conceptualized by the clusters during the lockdown!
The Dastkar Bazaar is happening at The Jayamahal Palace between 1 September and 7 February from 11am to 8pm. Parking is available and you will have to pay an entry fee of INR 50.
