Gear Up For Heavy Metal And Headbanging At Bangalore Open Air 2016

What Is It?

Metalheads can get set for some serious head banging soon! Bangalore Open Air, touted to be India’s only dedicated heavy metal, open air music festival, is back with its fifth edition. And, this time around, they have a lineup of six bands {including international acts} to look out for. Time to face the music, folks!

Who Is It For?

When it’s a music festival that sees devoted fans of the genre gather for an evening of loud, heavy metal, have no doubt about it — it’s not for the faint-hearted. Perfect for headbangers, and those who turn their noses up at pop and EDM, this one's hard core.

Why Should I Go For It?

Connected to the Wacken Metal Festival {that's possibly the biggest metal open air fest in the world}, this one channels all the vibes of the original. So if you're running low on funds to make it to the German town it happens in, this is a stellar replacement. Of course, it can also be a pre-party if you're going to the main gig next month too! Catch performances by the likes of Canadian heavy metal act, Skull Fist {this is first ever show in the country}, Vader {Polish death metal band}, and Bangladesh-based Severe Dementia. And, then there’s Nader Sadek with members from a bunch of metal bands. Closer home, you have Providence {Mumbai} and Inner Sanctum from Bangalore to look out for.

Want a dose of the heavy stuff before you head there? Make way to the Wacken Metal Battle {Bangalore round and national finals, too} in which the winners get to play at Wacken Open Air.
