Metal Fans, Begin The Head Banging: India’s Biggest Metal Fest Is Back Next Weekend

The information in this post might be outdated

What Is It?

India’s biggest Rock and Metal Fest is back for its 7th edition. Powered by Wacken Open Air (Germany), the biggest Metal Festival in the world, this year’s edition will see six killer acts from across the globe taking centre stage. Of course, this will include homeboys and Bangalore’s favourite Kryptos. Started by metal enthusiast Salman U Syed, Bangalore Open Air has proved its mettle by being the longest running festival of its kind in the country. And one of the few cities in the country with its heart still beating to rock music, there’s no way you should miss this one!

Who Is It For?

The city’s metal scene might not be as robust as it was a few years ago, but all you die hard rock and metal fans know you want to be there to catch your favourite acts from the United States, France, and the Middle East. Rockers, music makers and fans of the bands, this one’s for all of you!

Why Should I Go For It?

The festival would be American Thrash Metal band Overkill’s first show in Asia, and you’ll get to catch a glimpse of their mascot Chaly! Local rock legend Kryptos will also celebrating their 20th anniversary, so expect a spectacular performance (and maybe something special lined up). The festival runs on the love and support it gets from fans of the genre and those who’ve stayed loyal to the ‘scene’, keeping the spirit alive. Let us also tell you that there’s nothing like headbanging in the mosh pit to really make you feel like a part of the performance. So bring out your tribute t-shirts, fuel up and get set to rock!
