Bangalore's Own Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop
Located on at the beginning of 15th Cross, 4th Phase, JP Nagar, this newly-opened cafe is the first of its kind in Bangalore, and comes with a Harry Potter-themed menu and decor. Situated on the top floor of a mansion, the cafe nails the theme right — starting from the fact that you can access it through a spiral staircase that reminds you of the Divination Stairwell. The interior features brick walls, cobweb {fake ones} ceilings and colourful light fixtures, while the wooden chairs and tables are decorated with symbols such as the Deathly Hallows. There’s even a selection of props including wands, witch’s hats, Sorting Hat {no it doesn’t talk}, house flags, and a large Marauders map poster, making up the decor. There’s even a broomstick hanging from the ceiling.
Start-Of-Term Feast
The Maradauer’s Map menu {yes, you heard us right} had us Instagramming and Snapchatting to the entire world. Serving mainly Italian and a bit of other European favourite, it’s the magically-named dishes that wins it for us. Here you can sip on Butter Beer {non-alchoholic of course}, down a plate of Marvolo Rings {onion rings}, or gorge on Hogwart’s Steak. You can even go all out and order the Fred And George’s Skiving Snack Box that serves three desserts of your choice. And guys, they have Chocolate Frogs! We were a bit disappointed when they told us that there are no Chocolate Frog Cards to collect. Our hunt for a Bertie Bott card will have to go on then. We are going to check out the food here soon.
