We're Bao'wled

The #BaoWowFestival is back at The Fatty Bao and this time, apart from menu favourites — the open bao — look out for bao sliders and bao hotdogs too. Firstly say hi to the Bao Wow Hotdog, which basically a Chinese-steamed-bun-meets hotdog number. House-made chicken sausages are tucked into a bao, flavoured with lemon grass, chilli, and roasted garlic, and served with a mustard spiked barbecue mayo and sweet potato floss. The bao sliders come in vegetarian avatars such as the Beet Bao, served with yuzu and a cream cheese sauce, and a tamarind glaze, pickled fennel and scallions or a seafood version with a grilled prawn cake, with chilli oysters, bell peppers, a Japanese style bonito mayo and pickled cucumbers.

The Classics

Then there will also be the classic open-faced baos that The Fatty Bao is known from. Take your pick from stuffings such as roasted pumpkin with five spices, garlic and scallion, a rendition of the Malaysian Lamb Rengdang, with a slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, a Malaysian Seremban Seiw Pau — crispy pastry bun stuffed with roasted pork. Don’t forget to check out the Dessert Bao — a fried bun stuffed with matcha ice cream strawberries and pistachio. Yum!

Adding some excitement to this special bao menu will be The Fatty’s Root To Fruit cocktail selection. take your pick from Fatty Sour, Mickey Ninja, K Pop or Popcorn Sour.
