Cheers To This: Eight Bar And Brewery Openings We're Looking Forward To In 2018

There’s a good reason why Bangalore is the pub, bar and brewery city of India. You can easily give directions to someone by only using their names. And we’re mighty proud of that feat. Naturally, we won’t say no to more of these fine watering holes opening up in 2018. Of course, this all depends on licenses, finance, real estate and permissions, so don’t come gunning for us if plans happen to fall through for this. We’re just being hopeful about all this! Any excuse for drinking, eh?

Yes, we all fell in love with the quirky The Open Box, and the pops of colour, design and funky fresh ideas it came with. But The Open Box is all set for a newer and funkier avatar, and a completely different Version 2.0. Or who knows! It is going to be at the same location, so no need to fret.

This pyramid-shaped place is expected to be in Indiranagar and while we don’t know much more about this place, we know one thing — it’s going to be  a microbrewery. Of course, being Bangalore, there is no way we can ever have enough of that! So bring on the beer, y’all!

Oh how gorgeous the Biergarten in Whitefield is — open air, lots of space, fresh beer and good vibes. All set to set up shop in Koramangala in 2018, we’re hoping that the new outlet too will have a similar menu because we can’t get enough of the Pulled Pork Burger, bacon-wrapped prawn and their baos. Yum!

The new spot that is expected to be in Hennur is not just a brewpub, it going to be a destination. Apparently, the space will be massive with the idea being that you go spend the whole day and unwind here. It’s going to have those similar resort vibes, but on a larger scale. We’re already dreaming about Sundays, wearing shorts, flip-flops, sipping Mai Tais and beer, pretending we’re holidaying in the Maldives. You?

Wow, there’s yet another brewpub in JP Nagar, and it’s pretty obvious that this list is filled with upcoming brewpubs! But who’s complaining, eh? The more the merrier. Their logo says craft beer and zesty food, but that’s about all we know of this space. Oh, we also know that it’s near the ORR. They’re one of the few places that already have a Facebook page here, though there’s hardly any information on it. Check it out to keep track as the opening date comes nearer.

This one’s been a long time coming, but we can’t really be sure when. If the Mumbai one is anything to go by, then expect opulent decor, high ceilings, fancy chandeliers and glossy seating. After all, this is meant to be a gentlemen’s club. We’re not the biggest fans of what Playboy stands for in general, but we’re hoping that the club will just be a place to have some good old fun.

Touted to be the baby of the Big Brewsky folks, this bar is going to be adding to the bar skyline of, where else, but Indiranagar. Very secret and under wraps, we can’t give you any more information than this. All we know is, it’s going to be around sometime in 2018. It’s apparently going to take the space of 100 Feet Boutique Restaurant & Bar, and will be heavily Old Bangalore influenced with plenty of lingo throw into cocktail names and themes, decor and menu too.

But of course, it’s another brewery. We’re sure of this one, however, as it’s already looking like an establishment that means business. Located next to the Tanishq showroom on 100 Feet Road in Koramangala, we can’t wait to see what this brewery has in store for us.
