Located in Raheja Arcade, Bayleaf restaurant in Koramangala is quite an institution and crowd favourite when it comes to good old north Indian food.
Bayleaf In Koramangala Scores For Biryanis, Chaat And Their Bottomless Buffets
Shortcut
Chow Down
Bhutte Ka Tikki, delicious corn patties and Angare Murgh — a tandoori chicken dish where the chicken tikka marinade meets Andhra-style flavours.
Sip On
An Old Fashioned with bourbon and maraschino cherry, just swirl it around and sip as you soak in the retro ambience.
Winning for
We always stick to their biryanis and their buffet is value for money.
Lowdown On The Ambience
A blast from the past, it is reminiscent of the technicolour cinema days with wood work, subtle beige interiors and pillars. An old-fashioned bar counter sits at the head of the restaurant, next to a narrow passageway of steep steps that lead to a floor that can hardly accommodate a few tables. Simple and minimal, it is one of the heritage places that has stood the test of time for their food.
What’s On The Menu?
Start your feast here with a light chicken shorba flavoured with spices and lime. The chaats here particularly get a thumbs up from us, especially crispy eggplant tossed in masala and red onion. For mains, don’t look beyond the biryanis and soft butter kulchas along with the Chicken Bhartha and rich Lucknow-style Korma {tender to the bone}, served as a rich, hearty curry. Oldie goldie favourites include the dal makhni to the king of comfort food — deep fried aloo. Yum!
