Ten-Second Takeaway

Bringing a bit of a party to high street clothing, BCBGeneration opens shop in town.

Style And Attitude

Derived from the French phrase “bon chic bon genre” {which translates to good style, good attitude}, BCBGeneration has just landed in the city, courtesy Reliance Brands. The Los Angeles-based high street brand is helmed by Joyce Azria, daughter to fashion designer Max Azria {founder of BCBG}. Along with casual dressing, the high street brand specialises in slightly dressy occasion wear. Think flow maxi or strappy dresses, structured minis and shift dresses, all keeping the feminine aesthetic in mind. You will want to stock up on their selection of tops that includes shapes such as boxy, styles such as the bustier and fabric such as the Jacquard. Pair these numbers with solid skirts or pants, and you should be good to go.

If you are in the mood for relaxed dressing, then BCBG’s selection of jumpsuits, rompers and playsuits, ought to please you. Our recommendation: a jumpsuit with an off shoulder neckline. The staff informed us that one of the brand’s bestsellers are apparently their easy breezy floral palazzos. Ladies, you will love their range of sequinned A-Line dresses and shimmery body con skirts. Perfect for a night out.

Bling It On

The selection of jewellery at BCBGeneration spells glam with plenty of statement styles on offer in necklaces, earrings, studs, finger rings and charm bracelets. There’s layered necklaces to choose from, those with pendants, statement versions and even simple, long gold chains. The colour is gold and slightly blingy throughout {we would have loved to see some rose gold tones here}. We are digging this pair of All Ears Drama Earrings {for ourselves} and these Mini Message Stacks of bracelets {perfect for gifting}. The selection of stilettos in-store is pretty vast, along with some flats {in silver and gold}. We especially give our thumbs up to their Gladiator-Style Stilettos. If you have pins worth showing off, then go for these beauties.

The good news is that apparently BCBG’s Spring Summer look is divided into three collections {you know what that means right? More clothes}, which will be introduced gradually over the next few months to autumn. The not-so-good news are the prices {they start at INR 3,000 and above for clothes}. But we will make our peace with splurging on some accessories {INR 1,000 upwards} for the time being.
