If you're a local coffee brand, a cafe or a hotel and are looking for expertise on how to brew or create new coffee blends using traceable single estate beans, reach out to Beanrove. Run by fifth-generation coffee planter, Sharvan, Beanrove we think, is of great service to the coffee community. At its core, this Bengaluru-based business is a one-stop coffee performance Studio aka, a small batch coffee roastery, lab and training center. But it is so much more too. It is an end to end solution to small-scale farmers who lack the expertise to reach the market.
Let's break it down. Sharvan, who has a certification in Coffee Mechanics and Science works with farmers across five estates in Southern India (Harley, Kalledevarapura, Balur, Aghora, Hardur and Halase). He understands the terrain, the type of coffee grown, different processes (yeast processed, carbon macerated etc), sources the same and retails these beans either in their raw or roasted form to coffee brands. The Beanrove Studio has a full-fledged brewing setup equipped with cafe grade machines. Brands can drop in here and roast, brew or experiment with these beans and sell it under their name (so long as the estate is mentioned).
Prices at which the beans are procured and sold is communicated with farmers and brands so there is transparency. Shravan also shares that there is an exchange of coffee knowledge on both ends. This has enabled farmers to sell their single estate coffees internationally as well. Beanrove has worked with the likes of Bili Hu, Subko, Kaali, Kokoro and has a line of its own single estate roasted coffees.
