First made for the Maharaja of Mysore, Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV by Kakasura Madappa, the Mysore Pak is perhaps one of the most iconic South Indian sweets there is. In fact, Guru Sweets in Mysore, run by Madapppa's family, serves the OG Mysore Pak using the same original recipe. While a trip to Mysore might take a while, we did the next best thing. We hunted down the best places to get Mysore Pak in Bangalore. And here are the five best places to bite into the iconic sweet.
The Maharaja's Favourite: Where To Get The Best Mysore Pak In Bangalore
Sri Venkateshwara Sweetmeat Stall
Old-school Bangaloreans will tell you of this place and how during their trips to Chickpet with their parents would get some (read kilos) Mysore Pak packed from here. When we asked the store in-charge a while back, we were informed that the Mysore Pak here are still handmade with locally sourced ghee.

Sri Krishna Sweets
You probably would have seen packets of Sri Krishna Sweets being packed by your uncles and aunts who are returning back abroad after their visit home. Chances are some of those sweets are Mysore Pak or Mysurpa as Sri Krishna Sweets calls them. You can pick these by the kilo or boxes at any of their outlets across Bangalore.

Asha Sweet Centre
The Malleshwaram sweet shop has been dishing out its popular Mysore Pak since it first opened in 1951. Even though now it has multiple outlets in the city, our favourite still remains the Malleshwaram outpost to pick up not just the sweet but also their samosas. Also, their Mysore Pak has a very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside texture that we quite like. They have a soft version if you prefer that.

Anand Sweets & Savouries
When we are not having their samosas and fresh jalebis, we pack Mysore Pak by the boxes to have some for ourselves and give them as gifts. Apart from the classic variant, they serve dry fruit, cashew, and sugar-free variants as well. Oh and if you are getting the boxes, they are such a keepsake too.

Shree Mahalakshmi Sweets
The Mysore-based sweets shop has outlets in Bangalore that serve up the traditional sweet in its classic form as well as in cashews and with jaggery forms. You can order them by piece or kilo depending on your cravings.
