With its many lush green trees and dreamy weather, dining at an outdoor restaurant is rather just heavenly. Marrying the experience of enjoying good food and the great outdoors are these gorgeous restaurants in the city. From poolside dining to the perfect dinner date spot, here’s our list of the best outdoor restaurants in Bangalore

Disclaimer: Be sure to mask up, carry extra sanitiser and follow all social distancing and Covid-19 protocols when you visit these restaurants.

Grasshopper

This hidden gem in Bannerghatta is by far the most romantic restaurant we’ve been to in the city. Set in a sprawling farmhouse, make your way to their completely al fresco dining space, in the midst of bamboo thickets, and sit at candlelit tables with freshly cut flowers on them. If this doesn’t floor your date, we don’t know what will. The menu is just as fancy as their set up. We highly recommend the succulent lamb roundels that are drenched in a red wine sauce and grilled zucchini with mint pea puree. Pair the meal with some fine wine and dessert (they really know how to pamper the sweet tooth here.) and you’ve got yourself a picture-perfect evening.

Olive Beach

Cane chairs, dim lights and fresh flowers peeking in from every corner, Olive Beach is all about creating a cosy mood around your dining experience. With Mediterranean and European dishes on the menu, start your meal with some of their delicious salads, before you move on to their popular mains, like the Vegetable Pot Pie, Lobster Risotto, and Mushroom Ravioli. And don’t skip on dessert as they’ve got plenty to try here.

Big Brewski

One of the prettiest microbreweries in town, Big Brewski has knocked us off of our feet with the lavish space, poolside dining experience, and their scrumptious fare of food and drinks. It looks especially stunning in the evenings when it’s all lit up. Score a table by the poolside, sip on some in-house brews and tuck into their delicious Popcorn Prawns and Hot Paprika Grilled Chicken  and you’re in for a real treat.

The Piazza At UB City

With some of our favourite eateries in town, the piazza at UB City is one stop where we can get our food fix, whatever the cuisine (and your budget). We love that all the restaurants are semi al fresco, and most have outside areas where you can soak up the sun and breeze simultaneously. Quintessential Bangalore, no? Feel like munching on some Mexican goodness? Head to Sanchez. In the mood for something healthy and delicious? Fava is right there. Sushi at Shiro, maybe? Keep it casual at Farzi Cafe or Cafe Noir with a warm cuppa and some cafe bites or take the Italian route and gorge on pizzas and more at Toscano. If you want to live the high life but your wallet doesn’t resonate the sentiment, there’s even a Subway and Keventers here for your low budget eats.

Sunny's

Arguably the best European restaurant in the city, this pet-friendly spot is set in a gorgeous old-time bungalow on Lavelle Road. With a lovely outdoor space and a verandah upstairs, enjoy cool breezes and great views and you devour classics like their Smoked Salmon Roll with Cream Cheese, Melon with Parma Ham and Crab Cakes. Do save room for dessert and order the flawless Crème Brulee and Tiramisu with mascarpone cheese. They’re a dog-friendly space too, so you’ll find one or two wandering about trying to make new friends too. Read more here.

Rim Naam At The Oberoi

Set by a pond, the tables are under simple wooden roofs and there’s an Oriental charm about the whole set up here. With wooden furniture, dim yellow lights, and a menu full of Thai classics, Rim Naam is perfect for a fancy evening out. Make sure you try their green papaya salad and corn cakes. The lobster with sweet basil sauce is also lovely, as are their curries (Mmmm, Matsaman) and Pad Thai. A meal for two will set you back by INR 3,000, but the experience will be priceless.

URU Brew Park

Supposedly the first brew park of the city, URU is located in JP Nagar and has a park, a brewery, a cafe and a bistro. It even has a gin garden. There's even a private barbeque section in case you want to throw a private party here. Expect everything from Cocktail Samosa and Singapore Chilli Prawns to cocktails and mocktails which are all part of the global menu. Head on over for some lovely aesthetics and good food.

Stories - The Brew Chapter

BTM Layout's microbrewery Stories is green and filled with plants and vines in every nook and corner of the pub. The section downstairs is partially open with skylight coming in and easy access to the bar. The upstairs however is completely open and just has an open shelter in case of rain. We suggest booking a table here in case of a date night or an evening out with friends. The pizzas and chicken starters are highly recommended.

Daddy's

Soon becoming on of the city's most loved bar simply because they are doing all things right -- affordable booze, tasty food and great ambiance, Daddy's is the place to be at when in Indiranagar. We love their outdoor seating most, you get to dine under the stars among great company, huge statement planters and plants and the cool Bangalore breeze. What's not to love? Always best to book a table before heading here, the place gets full sooner than you know.

Green Theory

A sprawling, albeit little jungle in the heart of Bangalore, Green Theory is our space to escape to when we want to travel outdoors, and live and feast among nature without actually having to leave the city. Their outdoor seating is one of the most beloved, it's calm, it's serene, it's green as far as the eye can see. Plus, you have delicious and not drab vegetarian fare to go with. Mmmh, mmh! Read more here.

Pro-Tip: Enjoy the food but want to dine indoors? They have a branch in Indiranagar too for that.
